Transform

From the Vestry

Highlights from the July Vestry meeting:

• Every month at Vestry we spend some time at the start of the meeting discussing a spiritual focus, and if time permits a governance topic. In July, we looked at the fourth Mark of Mission, TRANSFORM, and how we can all transform unjust structures of society, challenge violence and pursue peace and reconciliation - big stuff, but little ways we can help are by bringing items along every week for the City Mission foodbank, and to purchase ethical products as we do our grocery shopping. The tea & coffee we serve at church aligns with this.

• In other business, our insurers are waiting for a quote before repairs can proceed to the carpark fence.

• If you notice anything around the property that needs looking at, please write it in the maintenance book, which is found on the bookcase in the foyer.

• Vincent Place renovations are now complete - welcome to Grant & Rose, our new tenants.

• Make sure the dates for the Fair 24 Sept & Quiz night 16 Oct are in your diaries

• We are exploring the possibility of joining the Eco Church zero waste programme.

Please note: the Council rubbish bins must be kept away from the building - this is a requirement of our insurers.

With Rev’d Ben away on paternity leave, the next few weeks have a few changes:

Sun 7th & 14th—No 8am service

No Morning Prayer 11-19 Aug

THANK YOU FROM THE WARDENS TO:

• Jean S for producing the magazine, to Robyn & Nigel G for preparing it for delivery, and to everyone who delivers them.

• Hugh for the hundreds of hours he has spent renovating our rental property - we are truly grateful.

Anna & Barb
