Saint Mark's Anglican Church has been a part of the Opawa and St Martins communities since 1865.

The current church building was rebuilt in 1953 after a fire destroyed the original church building, and repaired in 2022 following the damage from the Canterbury Earthquakes.

Saint Anne’s Chapel was constructed in 2022 to recognise the St Martins congregation.
