House Groups            


 

“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.” So said St Catherine of Siena. The Christian life is a life directed toward God and shaped after Christ. It means becoming comfortable in our own skins as we grow to be fully human, which means growing into the person God has made us to be, and being more and more like Christ himself.

House groups provide a place for the nurture of this faith in a relaxed atmosphere with other Christians.

House groups in this parish form a key part of enabling the development of a lively and passionate faith.

The parish has a policy of asking all house groups to have a “chair for Elijah”. This is an empty chair set aside for the next new member of the group. The group are asked to pray that God will send someone to fill that chair.

The group details are as follows:

Anabasis (homeward or upward journey) house group meets twice a month on the 2nd. & 4th Thursday evening. Please contact Barbara Tonkin if you would like to join. Her phone number is 981 1612.

Thursday Group at Shewan’s home. This group meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at 7.30pm. New members always welcome. Contact Jean Shewan on 337 1642.

The Monday morning group meets every week at 10.00am and spends time exploring their faith and seeing how it applies to the every day world of family life, work and parenting. Contact Sarah Cuthbert on 332 8650.

Thursday morning group meets at St Mark’s every second Thursday at 9:45am and may suit those who wish to come to a group after the weekly St Mark’s School church service. Contact Elizabeth Kimberley on 981 7384 for details.
